Well, It is custard, but not the last stand. (And yes, hehe, I realize it was Custer, but I love a good pun...even though that is nothing like a good pun...)
Made some no sugar added custard last night and it is delicious.
Scald 3 cups of milk and set aside
1/2 cup of Splenda
dash of salt
Add scalded milk to mixture and whip
Pour into glass loaf pan
Sprinkle nutmeg on top
Place filled loaf pan in a larger glass or ceramic baking dish and add an inch of water to the baking dish to serve as a double boiler.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until inserted knife comes out clean
Cool and enjoy!
